Acelet-Desktop: cross platform desktop for Linux, Solaris and Windows

Acelet-Desktop is a cross-platform desktop program. It is freeware: free to use, free to distribute. It will be open source later.

Acelet-Desktop will be easier for migrating from Windows to Linux and back. If you are familiar with Windows, you will be comfortable on Linux or Solaris.

The audience:

• users who migrate from Windows to Linux.
• users working on all operating systems. Especially when you have a Windows station and work on Linux or Solaris servers.

Currently, Acelet-Desktop contains the following programs:

• Acelet-Explorer: a file manager.

Desktop program is the GUI software between the user and the Operating System. For example, when you start Windows, you will see a background picture, a few icons and a Start menu. That is a desktop program. Acelet-Desktop will hide the differences among different operating systems. So it is easy to migrate from on operating system to another. Especially from Windows to Linux.

Tested platforms

• Windows XP.
• Ubuntu Linux.
